Some Tips On Picking Glasses
_
Now it’s time to pick the frames. Keep this in mind, eyeglasses
are an extension of your personality, they are part of your style. Unfortunately
I have had frames in past when I really have known buyer’s remorse. And with
the expense associated, felt stuck. I know I am not the only one. I have heard
from many; my glasses are too small, too thick, too big wrong color and this
can go on for all too long.
This is an effort to help you pick frames. For me it feels like a comprehensive guide that I am offering, however this is a lot of opinion. So, consider it a path within the journey of choosing glasses.
Your skin tone. Your hair, your attitude these things all together are going to help choose the glasses that you ultimately get, the glasses that will work with you as well as for you.
If your eyes, hair, or skin coloring is dark, then you should go for a big, bold, dark frame. Consider plastic frame in black or brown. These frames will not overtake your face but instead compliment your look.
The people with medium skin tones, well you got it made. These people seem to pull off an array of looks. The lighter side of medium should go for a delicate frame and softer colors. Medium to the darker side can wear bold frames, but should opt for brown colors like tortoise shell or one of my favorites- gunmetal. And for the most part you should avoid black, too much contrast to the face.
Light skin tones should look for delicate styles. This it a great application for rimless glasses. You may want to keep to soft colors like blue or pink. Avoid silver or colors that get lost with your skin. If you are a natural blond this is for you.
You can make gray hair work with metal frames. Silver or gunmetal really work well. I am a big fan of semi-rimless, though stay away from thick, bold, color arms on the glasses. Also avoid full rimmed glasses. We are shooting for a look of wise, not old.
These are ideas to try and help pick frames. They are not law or rule, though some might think so. Frames are part of our personality, a part we show. Colors help tell the story we are showing the world. For example black portrays sophistication or mystery, while gray and silver demonstrate a cultured and educated person. Light pinks or purples are feminine and some times innocent. Where as violet is the color of royalty or you might be saying you are subtle and sexy. Blues and greens give off a calm-air and so you seem approachable. Red is bold, sexy, and powerful so if you are timid go for a different color or at least be warned. Make picking frames fun and pick frames that show your vast amount of style. Express yourself, you know yourself better than anyone.
